What gutter repair covers

Not every gutter problem needs a full replacement. Repair work fixes the specific things that fail: sagging runs, leaking seams, separated end caps, loose hangers, and downspouts that have pulled away or clogged. We re-pitch, re-seal, re-hang, and replace only the parts that are worn.

A good repair gets water flowing the right way again and buys your existing gutters more life. If the system is too far gone to save, we'll tell you honestly rather than patch something that won't hold.

Common Problems

What we fix

Sagging gutters

Usually caused by failed spike-and-ferrule hangers, undersized hangers, or ice damage. We re-hang with proper hidden hangers and re-pitch for flow.

Leaking seams

Sectional joints fail when old sealant cracks. We strip, clean, and re-seal with high-grade gutter sealant. Long-term fix: switch to seamless.

Separated end caps

Common after windstorms. End caps pop free and water dumps off the end of the gutter. Quick fix, often same-visit.

Bad pitch

Water sits in the gutter instead of flowing to downspouts, breeding mosquitoes and rusting the bottom. We re-pitch the run with proper drop per foot.

Damaged downspouts

Crushed, disconnected, or undersized downspouts that overflow. Repair, replace, or upgrade to 3x4 oversized depending on the situation.

Holes & rust

Patch small holes, replace rusted sections. If rust is widespread, replacement makes more sense than repair.

Repair vs Replace

When repair is right, when it isn't

The honest answer depends on age, condition, and the underlying problem.

Sectional gutters with multiple leaking jointsConsider replacing with seamless
20+ years old, sagging in multiple placesReplace

Common Questions

Gutter repair FAQs

How much does gutter repair cost?

Most minor gutter repairs in South Jersey run $150 to $500: re-sealing seams, replacing a section of damaged gutter, fixing one or two loose hangers. Larger repairs that involve re-pitching long runs, replacing multiple sections, or fascia repair fall in the $400 to $1,200 range. Every estimate is written and free.

Should I repair or replace my gutters?

Repair if the gutters are under 15 years old, in generally good condition, and the problem is localized to specific sections. Replace if multiple sections are sagging, rust or rot is widespread, the system is 20+ years old, or the gutters were never sized correctly for the roof. We give an honest read at the estimate.

How long does a gutter repair take?

Most repairs are completed in 2 to 4 hours in a single visit. Sealant jobs need a warm dry day so they cure properly. Complex repairs that involve re-hanging long runs or coordinating with fascia work may need two visits.

Can I repair my gutters myself?

Cleaning and minor downspout fixes are reasonable DIY work for one-story homes if you're comfortable on a ladder. Sealing seams, re-pitching, replacing hangers, and any work on two-story homes is risky and rarely lasts. Improper repair often makes the underlying problem worse.

Do you do emergency gutter repair?

We handle storm damage, separated gutters, and downspout failures on a priority schedule, usually within 48 hours. If water is actively damaging your home, call and we'll triage from there.
